In the middle of the week, this wicked one will “cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate.” To have a sacrificial system, some type of Temple will have to be built. In verse 27, Daniel spoke of the 70th week, known as the Tribulation period, and the Antichrist. The first, Daniel 9:24–27, describes the 70 weeks of years given to the Jewish people.
